| OUR
SETTING |
 The
Blue Rock School is located in a beautiful wooded three acre property
in West Nyack, NY. The main building, with classrooms and offices,
is a Dutch style stone farmhouse, portions of which are over 260
years old. Our second structure, "The Barn," was completed in
1994. It contains classrooms, our woodworking/art room, and a
large multi-purpose space used for theater, gymnastics, dance
and music. Woodland paths, playgrounds, gardens and a greenhouse
are set into the hillside and help create a warm and natural environment.

 Our
students come from a variety of economic, ethnic and religious
backgrounds. We value this diversity and take satisfaction in
the children's ability to find a common ground at Blue Rock School.
Our graduates go on to both public and private schools and find
that their creative problem solving, comprehension skills, and
joy of learning help them to excel.
We have alumni attending the following colleges and universities:
Harvard, Oberlin, Wesleyan, Mc Alister, University of Seville
Spain, Skidmore, University Of Pennsylvania, Hampshire College,
Loyola Marymount, Berkeley College of Music, Middlebury, Bennington,Tufts,
Vassar, Rockland Community College and Columbia.

FACULTY |
 The
Blue Rock School is blessed with an exceptionally talented and
committed teaching staff. The majority have masters degrees in
education, and all hold in common an open and questioning attitude
toward the art of education. Through their collaborative efforts,
the teachers set the educational tone and policy of the school.

| PARENTS
|
 Parents
play an extremely important role at the school through the
Parent Council and on an individual basis. Both the Director
and the teaching staff welcome parent involvement in the educational
process of their child.

Blue Rock School
is 40 minutes from the George Washington Bridge in Manhattan
and a 20-30 minute ride from Westchester and Bergen counties.
Blue Rock School is located in Rockland County, New York, in
the town of West Nyack.
A. FROM THE TAPPAN
ZEE BRIDGE: Take the New York Thruway (87/287) to exit 12 (West
Nyack exit). At the light, turn left and get into the right
lane. Make a right at the next light onto Snake Hill Road. Continue
on this winding road until you reach a STOP sign. Make a left
at the STOP sign. When you reach a four-way STOP sign intersection,
go straight across to Germonds Road. The first left is DEMAREST
MILL ROAD. Blue Rock School is #110, near the end of the road,
on the right-hand side. Park in front, on the street.
B. FROM THE NORTH
AND WEST: Take the New York
Thruway (87/287) to exit 12 (West Nyack exit). Follow the signs
to route 303 South. Take the exit for Route 59 West (towards
Spring Valley). You will pass the Palisades Mall on your right,
then cross a very small bridge. Look for the sign for West Nyack
immediately on your right (easy to miss). Take that exit and
bear left onto West Nyack Road. At the light, turn onto Strawtown
Road. Once you are on Strawtown road, go through the flashing
light until you reach a 4-way STOP sign intersection. Turn left
onto Germonds Road. Make your first left onto DEMAREST MILL
ROAD. Blue Rock School is #110, near the end of the road, on
the right-hand side. Park in front, on the street.
C. WEST FROM 9W,
take Route 59W from Nyack. Go through Central Nyack, past the
Palisades Mall. As you cross a very small bridge, look for a
sign for West Nyack immediately
on your right (easy to miss). Take that exit and bear left onto
West Nyack Road. At the light, turn onto Strawtown Road. Once
you are on Strawtown road, go through the flashing light until
you reach a 4-way STOP sign intersection. Turn left onto Germonds
Road. Make your first left onto DEMAREST MILL ROAD. Blue Rock
School is #110, near the end of the road, on the right-hand
side. Park in front, on the street.
D. FROM PALISADES
INTERSTATE PARKWAY. Get off at exit number 8E onto Route 59
East. At the first traffic light turn LEFT onto Crosfield Ave.
At the T, turn RIGHT onto W NYACK RD. At the first traffic light
turn LEFT onto Strawtown Road. Once you are on Strawtown Road,
go through flashing light until you reach a 4-way STOP sign
intersection. Turn LEFT onto Germonds Road. Make your first
LEFT onto DEMAREST MILL RD. Blue Rock School is #110, near the
end of the road, on the right-hand side. Park in front, on the
street.
E. FROM GEORGE WASHINGTON
BRIDGE (WESTBOUND) TAKE UPPER LEVEL, get into right lane and take
first exit onto Palisades Parkway then follow directions form "D."
above.
School hours are 9:00
- 3:00, Monday through Friday.
